Description
P0
Fix now (start now)
Blocks current deployment: address or mitigate immediately (same day) - i.e. work on it now
An issue which blocks production deployment or blocks users from reasonably using the product. Must be addressed or mitigated immediately - nothing is more important that this.
Example: simple editing of canvas or table content is broken. Scrolling takes 5 seconds every time. Committing cell sometimes loses data. Some users can't authenticate. Local changes won't synchronize.
Criteria:
Regression in existing features with Sev 0 impact
P1
Fix soon (start today)
Ideally resolve by next deployment window (1 day)
Start work on it today
An issue which must be fixed urgently. Does not block production deployment but should be addressed (ideally) before the next deployment. Impacts most users of key features of the product.
Example: Usability regression requires extra up arrow press on autocomplete (slows down fast data entry severely). Incorrect results on aggregate or column level formula. Table sort or filters are incorrect.
Criteria:
Regression in existing code with Sev 1 impact
P2
Fix this week (start it soon)
Within one week for existing features or postpone to planned Story or future work.
A product defect which is less urgent, impacting non-mainstream scenarios or creating minor annoyance / frustration for users of the product. Typically addressed by the team when making a quality push or improvements to a specific feature area.
Example: Intermittent connectivity issues with sync engine (changes sync but occasionally disconnect). Formula auto-complete help fails to infer useful options.
Criteria:
All Sev 0 - Sev 1 issues in new, non-mainline features/scenarios (typically feature work in progress)
All remaining Sev 2 issues
P3
Defer until future project
Typically deferred with no guarantee on if/when it may be resolved.
Track it, but don't fix unless trivial / personal interest / part of larger rearchitecture.
Fit and finish - makes us look polished.
Example: Drop-down menus or popovers not aligned properly. "harmless" exceptions in the logs.
Criteria:
Any other issues (including Sev 3)
